Russian 1 TV
(aired 15 August 2007)

When Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the archaeological excavation of a fortress in Por-Bazhyn, Tuva, a private concert was arranged at the archaeologists' camp. Alash, Chirgilchin, and Oktai were invited to perform. This video from Russian TV shows some hightlights.

Summary: The piece opens with the musicians throat-singing. Putin says he wouldn't have believed it (one singer producing multiple pitches) if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes. Mongun-ool Ondar of Chirgilchin explains that the songs are about the Tuvan native land, horses, and girls. Sean Quirk sings a solo in the kargyraa style and chats with President Putin, telling him how he came to Tuva to study music and decided to stay.
